I was just asked by Ryui-chii about artists that inspire me and, as I thought about it, I realized that it has been forever since I last did a shout-out to any of the amazing people whose wonderful work inspires me to keep creating, and it's about time I did so again. There are way to many for me to list them all, but here are some that come to mind in the moment:
I suppose it's not so much a shout-out when the parties in question are...dead...but I would be remissed if I didn't list some of my favorite golden age illustrators, such as Alphonse Mucha, Mary Cicely Barker, Arthur Rackham, Jessie Willcox Smith , and Maxfield Parrish.
I also am really into the art that comes out of western animation; Glen Keane is definitely a favorite of mine. Ryan Woodward is really great too.
There are a lot of online artists that I love too. I've been really into GreekCeltic lately. I also really love the drawings of Natello, Ketan Patel (ketansketches.tumblr.com/), Simone Grunewald (schmoesi.tumblr.com/), and Rebecca-Ninig. PrinceCanary's work is brilliant and beautiful; I love nicholaskole's character designs, Anna Cattish's (www.annacattish.com/) fashion inspired illustrations, PascalCampion's tender scenes, and I look up to my awesome friend Sae in many ways (her amazing drawings are at doodlesonly.tumblr.com/, and her kick-but web comic is pigeoncomic.com/).
So there are a few of the artists that inspire me; I highly recommend you give them a look! I owe them all a huge thank you, they've brought so much good to my life, and they've kept me creating! You guys are amazing!
Thanks for the question Ryui-chii! I hope you don't mind the long answer
